Ohio Cosmetology License Renewal CE Requirements
The Ohio State Board of Cosmetology requires holders of active licenses to take 8 bi-annual Ohio cosmetology continuing education hours. For the current renewal period, you may only report those hours earned between February 1, 2011 and January 31, 2013.
- Cosmetologists are permitted to take any course dealing with cosmetology services, which would include hair, nail and skin care.
- Estheticians may only take courses dealing with skin care such as Skin Care Essentials.
- Hair Designers may only take courses dealing with hair-care such as Hair Color Made Simple.
- Manicurists may only take courses dealing with manicuring such as Pedicure Essentials.
- Natural Hair Stylists may only take courses dealing with hair braiding or extensions, etc.
Ohio cosmetology active licensees who are 65 years of age prior to the license expiration date will not be required to take CE courses to renew an active license.
License Renewal Date: 1/31 odd-numbered years
